A musically inclined TorahTutors student was interested in King David, particularly his early years playing music for his predecessor, Saul. She and her tutor explored a variety of perspectives on the nature of the melancholy that came over Saul and how David’s music helped.
Was it simply the distraction of pleasant music that took Saul’s mind off the loss he sensed was coming?
Or was there something unique about David that imbued his music with holiness and inspired Saul with a deeper sense of connection to God?
How does music help us shift our moods or connect more deeply?
Is there an area of Torah that particularly interests you or relates to your passion?
We’d love to explore it with you!
