Moadim l’simcha! This Passover Tuesday, we’re proud to share a tidbit of Torah from one of the tutors who’s been with us the longest, learning with a number of long-term and new students.
We read in the Haggadah that Rabban Gamliel says we must explain three things: the korban pesach, matzah, and maror. The Bnei Yissachar notes that this order seems off. Chronologically, we should talk about maror, pesach, and then matzah! He explains that maror comes last because it was only after the Redemption that we understood that the bitterness of slavery was an essential step in being freed from materialism and ready to accept the Torah.
On that note of preparing to accept the Torah – don’t forget to count! (And consider signing up to learn some Torah with TorahTutors.)
A Tuesday TorahTutors Tidbit: Real Torah, from real TorahTutors sessions.
