A Purim Tuesday TorahTutors tidbit – or in the spirit of the day and how things in the Book of Esther flipped, perhaps we should say a Tidbit TutorsTorah Tuesday?
Either way – as always, it’s real Torah, from real TorahTutors sessions.
A TorahTutors student learned about the story of Purim and discussed the difference between reading it on a superficial level and reading it with an eye towards God’s role in the background, guiding events.
The tutor pointed out the contrast between Purim and Pesach, when God’s presence could be felt through obvious, revealed miracles, and asked: “Which of the two holidays feels more similar to our own lives? Which is more personally relatable?”
The student answered that like on Purim, God is behind the scenes in our lives as well – and it is our challenge to notice and see His “miracles.”
Wishing all our students, teachers, and friends a happy and healthy Purim!
